Don't Trust Me Lyrics
Black dress with the tights underneath
I've got the breath of the last cigarette on my teeth
And she's an actress, but she ain't got no need
She's got money from parents in a trust fund back east
Ta-ta-ta-tongues always pressed to your cheeks
While my tongue is on the inside of some other girl's teeth
Tell your boyfriend if he says he's got beef
That I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him
She wants to touch me, wahoo
She wants to love me, wahoo
She'll never leave me, wahoo, wahoo hoo hoo
Don't trust a ho
Never trust a ho
Won't trust a ho
Because the ho won't trust me
She wants to touch me, wahoo
She wants to love me, wahoo
She'll never leave me, wahoo, wahoo hoo hoo
Don't trust a ho
Never trust a ho
Won't trust a ho
Because the ho won't trust me
X's on the back of your hands
Washed them in the bathroom to drink like the bands
And the set list you stole off the stage
Has red and purple lipstick all over the page
Bra-bra-bra-bruises cover your arms
Shaking in the fingers with the bottle in your palm
And the best is, no one knows who you are
Just another girl alone at the bar
She wants to touch me, wahoo
She wants to love me, wahoo
She'll never leave me, wahoo, wahoo hoo hoo
Don't trust a ho
Never trust a ho
Won't trust a ho
Because the ho won't trust me
She wants to touch me, wahoo
She wants to love me, wahoo
She'll never leave me, wahoo, wahoo hoo hoo
Don't trust a ho
Never trust a ho
Won't trust a ho
Because the ho won't trust me
Shush girl, shut your lips
Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips
I said shush girl, shut your lips
Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips

Yeah, uhm, for everyone making the straight-edge reference, you're wrong. If you're underage at shows, they put X's on your hands, she's going into the bathroom to wash it off so they'll actually serve her drinks. Hence the lines following saying, "and the best is, no one knows who you are. just another girl alone at the bar."
mmyeah.
this song is bad ASS
this song is bad ASS
It's not that it's a bad song. It's catchy and pop. That's why all the girls that would have liked backstreet boys or insync are creaming over it. It's a satire on the sceane. The playout of songs is what in horrible. Most songs could be very enjoyable if they weren't put on every 45 mins. on every staion in the countrey.
As for interpreting the song, the song makes refernce to the same girl. I take it after many listens that it's a song dedicated to groupies. More so a "band-aid". From Rockstar. The girls that fallow a band and think that the band really cares. However they're a band an he's out making out with many other people. She's drowning out the thought of the problems with drugs. I.E. "bruises cover your arms, shaking in the fingers with the bottle in your palm," The hellen keller is an allusion to being blind and oblivous to the obvious. But like heller the girl is finally coming to learn the trust. No longer blind to the truth around her.
See the song isnt stupid, just those who don't look into the deeper meaning of the lyrics.
nods that's one interpetation I have of it. Though of course I'm suprised you missed the double meaning of helen keller being a reference to sex. and it's saying "don't trust me". ect ect ect

@ImSktn I think you nailed it.

That line is about an underage girl going to a show. The security guards look for IDs at the beggining of the show and write X's on your hands so you can't order drinks. She washes her hands in the bathroom to "drink like the bands" The girl is probably a groupie since she kissed all over the set list.
hey cinematicheart my friend wants me to email her what the bruises on the arms shaking with the bottle in your palm means. i dont know how to explain it help me please.

at first i thought it was about being stright edge, considering edge people write X's on everything. but then i listened to it a few more times and figured it was exactly what you said.

what? no this is referring to straight edge kids that draw the x's on the back of their hands to show that they are straight edge. If you're above the drinking age and go to a show they just give you a wrist band its way easier than marking every little kids hands that come in and you don't have to check everyones i.d. just those that want to drink. Imagine how long it would take to get in if they checked every single persons i.d. and marked the back of all of their hands!

I think this...
I think this line is taking a jab at the two face straight edge kids out there, the ones that do it because it's the trendy thing right now.
Some smaller venues will mark an X on your hand if you're underage (i used to receive them, back in the day) and that's what the line is referring to... not being straight edge. i guess it's cheaper and a way for them to save money, i dunno, but i do know that some shows do this.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
More and more these days, artists are coming out with songs that best reflect their lives and the lives of those around them, more specifically this generation. Songs gain popularity in this day and age, just as they did however many years ago. People relate to them. Fans will always search out what rings true in their own hearts and mind, and this song does that for me.
i always find myself singing the "do the helen keller and talk with your hips" and the line: "tell your boyfriend, if he says he's got beef, that i'm a vegetarian, and i ain't fucking scared of him." they have to be the best lines ever.
okay, for all the people that's talking smack about the bandm get over yourselves. i hate those fan girl bands just like everyone else, and so what if the song doesn't have a meaning, can't there be songs that you just want to dance to? you can't be serious about music all the time,. everyone has different tastes in music, and if this is what they like, you have no right to go on and trash them. it's their opinion, just like you have yours.
:]
classical music is bad cause it doesn't have a meaning, apparently.

Jeez, so much hostility. Truthfully, if you don't like the song, don't bother reading the lyrics or commenting it. Easy as that. If you're gonna be negative, just shut up :)
MTV sucks and so do the idiots who listen to shitty fucking misogynistic music like this. This is literally a song by a talentless middle class white boy who can't dance (see the video) and who doesn't trust women. "bruises cover your arms, shaking in the fingers with the bottle in your palm, and the best is, no one knows who you are" -- disgusting. "if he says he's got beef, that i'm a vegetarian" Wowwww, did he get Dane Cook to write that one for him? SO FUNNY.
WOW talk about everything else but the song meaning eh?
Don't Trust Me is a song written by 3oh!3 that tells the story of a guy meeting a girl at a club and what he does to make her want to be with him.
The first verse describes the girl's appearance and briefly goes into her life story. She is obsessed with the band playing at the club, and he is trying to make her jealous by focusing his attention on another girl that is there with her boyfriend.
The chorus of the song depicts how much this girl wants to be with him, but that she should stay away from him because he cannot be trusted. He refers to himself as a ``ho'', explaining that he should not be counted on because he will lose interest in one girl quickly. He is the type of guy good for a one night stand, but not for a relationship.
The song's second verse further explains the girl's obsession with the band, and goes into detail about how she tries to fit in with them and admires them from afar. The interlude tells the girl to ``do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips'', implying that he is looking for her to do less talking and give more action.
