I've been listening to ff for a while but really only just discovered the last part of ragged wood recently. all i can say is i've been crying since whenever i listen to its amazing sounds, vocals and lyrics. nothing worse than feeling like crap but this song rings true on my current relationship and what i've done to my girl. has a real sense of finality to it and gave me a huge slap in the face.

I agree with EldaAnzari so I changed the lyrics.
To me this song is partially about the beauty of Spring coming alive. I know that feeling living in Seattle, as I imagine Robin does.

Hi, I live in Galway, Ireland, and there's an ancient wood called Coole park where W.B. Yeats used to stay as a guest of his friend Lady Gregory. The woods and it's lake were an inspiration for Yeats so his poem Ragged wood may well be about coole. When I first heard this song it reminded me of these woods. His initials among other writers and poets can still be seen carved into an old beech tree in the park. This song also reminds me of Wouldn't it be nice by the beach boys. Its got the same theme of a hope...

This song is great!! What, no comments? It is a pretty straightforward love song, but it is so full of the joy, yearning and uncertainity of young love. It makes me happy. :)

Also I think Jonathan and Evelyn are probably TIED rather than tired in the morning (in the sense of tied = married)? Think that makes more sense in the context of the song.

I think this song is about desperate love for someone who won't return it to you and has moved on. He's saying that he doesn't care what she said or did as long as she comes back to him. His pleas are not working though.
