Underneath the Stars Lyrics
Floating here
Like this with you
Underneath the stars
Alight
For 13 billion years
The view
Is beautiful
And ours alone tonight
Underneath the stars
Spinning round
And round with you
Watching shadows
Melt the light
Soft shining
From our eyes
Into another space
Is ours
Alone tonight
Watching shadows melt
And the waves, break
And the waves, break
Whisper in my ear, a wish
"We could drift away so far"
Held tight
Your voice
Inside of my head
The kiss
Is infinite
And ours alone tonight
"We could drift away"
Flying here
Like this with you
Underneath the stars
Alight
For 13 billion years
The view
Is beautiful
And ours alone tonight
Underneath the stars
Underneath the stars
Underneath the stars
And everything gone
And all still to come
It's nothing to us
Together as one
In each others' arms
So near and so far
Forever as now
Underneath the stars
As the waves, break
Like this with you
Underneath the stars
Alight
For 13 billion years
The view
Is beautiful
And ours alone tonight
Underneath the stars
And round with you
Watching shadows
Melt the light
Soft shining
From our eyes
Into another space
Is ours
Alone tonight
Watching shadows melt
And the waves, break
"We could drift away so far"
Held tight
Your voice
Inside of my head
The kiss
Is infinite
And ours alone tonight
"We could drift away"
Like this with you
Underneath the stars
Alight
For 13 billion years
The view
Is beautiful
And ours alone tonight
Underneath the stars
Underneath the stars
Underneath the stars
And all still to come
It's nothing to us
Together as one
In each others' arms
So near and so far
Forever as now
Underneath the stars

I want nothing more than to have an mp3 so I can put this song on it and listen to it at school when Im forced to listen to random radio crap kids blast from whatever gadget they have at the moment.
@bleekerface over 10 years later and I 100% agree!

Gorgeous lyrics, gorgeous voice, and gorgeous Robert!
This is their best new song!
Reminds me of Plainsong; great album opener.
Just got the album, amazing song, smith has outdone himself with this wishesq track.
i think the whole album is a lot more like Wish than the last one. Best song on the album on first listen through.
awesome song
actually it should have been 14 billion yrs haha
amazin song but 'open' is way better
But 14 doesn't fit with the album's 13 theme. :\

@Cure. Open isn't "way better" that's only your subjective experience. Not true, not false, just subjective.

I love this song. To me, it has the same dreamy and ethereal qualities and even some of the lyrical imagery of "This Twilight Garden." These songs both describe a true and unadultered sense of the love and peace brought by the one you truly and deeply love. I find immense beauty and painterly imagery in the lyrics and ambience of both songs. Robert truly chose the right song to start off the album.
