I think this song is about a kid who is tired of his parents telling them to do everything the way they want them to: "You always want the same thing on the same old way" The Parent wants them to do things everything the same, nothing different, nothing different, nothing to worry about.

"Funny how you always think your always right" Parents tend to think that their advice and way of living is the "correct" Way.

"who died and made you God and did it happen overnight " The parent is so controlling the kids feels like they are trying to rule their life.

"I dont dance like that anymore Dont wear those clothes anymore Dont take that stance anymore" The kid is telling how their parent changed their lifestyle They told them not to Dance, or dress, or take a stance unless it is the way they want the kid to do it.

"Turn it down, do what your told" Obvious the parent is telling the kid what to do.

"You like to watch it cause my life's Up on the screen" The parent is seeing every little thing the kid does.

"Youve figured out what goes on behind the scenes" The parents figured out what the kid does wrong.

"Got a rumor that you want to show and tell Nobody's gonna buy the lie you're trying to sell"

"Don't talk like that anymore Don't speak your mind anymore Don't think those thoughts anymore Turn it down, do what your told" Same as the similar verse, the parents are telling the kid how and what to do.

The verses in between about waking the dead are all about the kid rebelling against the parents. I hope i helped :D

I love this song! I think the verses are about how people are dogging them about their different sound and they're just trying to say that they're chancging with time. At least the 1st verse.

THe chorus is pretty self explanitory, just blast the music and dance!

I think it is referring to how some oppose that type of music, particularly the more "seasoned" believers. I read this one site where this guy condemns rock music and CCM. While the site had a lot of good content I still don't see how an entire genre could be devilish. Even my church doesn't really like some of the harder music, although they are trying to understand that with a new generation will come new entertainment and technology. Some "old Foggies" need to see that this new generation is trying to bring people to Christ and that Pharisaical thinking isn't glorifying God. This song is just trying to break out of that one genre for Christ and all rules kind of thinking that the pharisees were accused of. At least to me.

I think this song is about how people try to judge them and try to condemn them ("you like to watch and judge my life upon the screen"Part) but they know they arn't doing anything wrong when the say "if it's to loud, well then you must be to old" not justifying anything just saying they don't care what ppl say.

Um personally i know this is going to weird,but i almost think this song was written for the Skelanimal company when they were first coming out. A few years ago when the Skelanimal company made a myspace i added it and this was there display song for the page. And they had a picture of Family Force 5 with a bunch of Skelanimals. It was really cute ^_^ --this song was what got me into FF5 i never knew about them until skelanimals :)
