If You Close The Door Lyrics
one two three
if you close the door
the night could last forever
leave the sunshine out
and say hello to never
all the people are dancing
and theyre having such fun
i wish it could happen to me
but if you close the door
id never have to see the day again
if you close the door
the night could last forever
leave the wine glass out
and drink a toast to never
oh someday i know someone will look into my eyes
and say hellooo
youre my very special one
but if you close the door
id never have to see the day again
dark party bars
shiny cadillac cars
and the people on subways and trains
looking gray in the rain
as they stand disarrayed
all but people look well in the dark
and if you close the door
the night could last forever
leave the sunshine out
and say hello to never
all the people are dancing
and theyre having such fun
i wish it could happen to me
cause if you close the door
id never have to see the day again
id never have to see the day again
once more
id never have to see the day again
Fact: this song was sung by meg white,
it was her first time singing on stage
the night could last forever
leave the sunshine out
and say hello to never
and theyre having such fun
i wish it could happen to me
id never have to see the day again
the night could last forever
leave the wine glass out
and drink a toast to never
and say hellooo
youre my very special one
id never have to see the day again
shiny cadillac cars
and the people on subways and trains
looking gray in the rain
as they stand disarrayed
all but people look well in the dark
the night could last forever
leave the sunshine out
and say hello to never
and theyre having such fun
i wish it could happen to me
id never have to see the day again
id never have to see the day again
id never have to see the day again
it was her first time singing on stage

Okay, I'll say it.
Um, this is a Velvet Underground song, actually called "After Hours".
The White Stripes may have covered it live or something.. but.. I can find nothing on it. And still it's the wrong name. Check your facts boy-o. (Then Wrong 'Em).
It definitely is "After Hours", originally done by the Velvet Underground. There is one version of this song done by the Stripes, recorded live, but the last time I checked it was one of 4 or 5 tracks the band forbid to be traded by fans (mostly because in this early recording the band is very clearly drunk). Still a very nice cover if you can find it, it's Meg's first solo singing I think.
