This is easily one of my favorite songs by them! it'a AMAZING!!!!
I think this song is about a guy who is breaking up with his girlfriend because he thinks that she can do better without him around and that she limits what she does and who she meets because of him. He knows that she will do fine without him and she will meet new people who are better for her than he ever was.

ahh...i love boys like girls but i've never heard this song. was this from before they got signed? soundtrack of my summer tour!! i'm probably going...i've already seen them live before though :)

But I agree, I think this song is about how the guy realizes he's holding the girl back, and he loves her enough to let her go. I think she's not reluctant to go, but she pretends to be because she doesn't want to hurt him. He sees through it, though, and begins to urge her more and more to go.
I think this about a guy who thinks that he's trouble for a girl. He has a bit of a history (hehe Chemicals Collide) and he thinks he's holding her back from getting as much as possible out of life so he's breaking up with her even though he loves her more than anything because he thinks it will be good for her and that she deserves better. He's saying that she'll get over him and forget him because even if she thinks she needs him, she doesnt.
