Shinji Ikari

Shinji Ikari is the main character/hero in Neon Genesis Evangelion.. what these lyrics have to do with him i have no idea although i havn't seen the whole series yet.

This song is amazing. I think this is the only Fightstar song that Alex sings by himself all the way through. To me it's about someone who's between life and death..possibly after being shot. I get that froim:

"It goes cold with a gunshot To be here it still feels nice I grow old after one shot"

He's in bliss after the pain of being shot...and it feels nice. I'm probably way out from what the band want the song to be about, but that's how I see it.

ok, so im going to try to relate it to Neon Genesis' protagonist because of the title. in one of the movies that conclude the series, (spoiler if anyone cares) everyone at Nerv is being executed for some overly complex plan, anyway, shinji ikari (14yrs) gets rescued by his blue haired gaurdian (20-9yrs) whom he lives with. she escorts him to the bio-mech only he can pilot, all the while he doesnt want to fight or even live and its repeatedly said that hes being a "child." well his gaurdian gets shot in the rescue, shes only hit once. after she gets shot, she knows shes going to die but she doesnt want everyone else executed, so she gives a persuasive speech. at the end she pushes shinji in the elevator, but kisses him before the door closes, and says "thats an adult kiss. lets do the rest when you come back." well when shinji gets in the elevator he wipes his mouth and sees blood. there he actually finds his resolve for pretty much the first time in the series... idk about the breath thing tho..
