Personally I think this song is about a party that got out of hand. Maybe the person got drunk and the colors were bright and everything seemed nice until somehting happened and the person wanted to go but needed to find a way to get home safely. idk thats just what i think, great song btw you should all listen to it
anon_percent35 is right i think. cacies friend did die by getting hit by a drunk driver so mabey this song is from the point of view of the driver. and about the chourus "go if you want to" so mabey this is what the drivers friends or whatever where saying tho him/her before he went out operating a vehicle all intoxicated and stuff.
I love this song. and this band. I like their sound a lot.
but as for the meaning of the lyrics... maybe they put the main character on a pedestal kind of. made them a star. and they're doing really well but they aren't satisfied and want to leave and the singer sympathizes saying "go if you want to" or maybe it's like, fine just go if you're so unsatisfied with this greatness. and the second verse could talk about how the star business is cold. that's just what I think.
when i said the point of view, instead of the drunk driver, i ment the friends or people at a party or some place. their point of view. and they were telling the person not to drive drunk but i guess they did it anyway.
