Letting Go Lyrics

Do you wanna, do, do you wanna know?
Have you gotta, have, have you gotta let it show?
I don’t wanna, I, I don’t wanna know
Have I gotta, have, have I gotta go?

‘Cause it’s love
Waking up
On my own
Two feet on stairs
Always land
Butter side up

Do you wanna, do, do you wanna know?
Have you gotta, have, have you gotta let it show?
I don’t wanna, I, I don’t wanna know
Have I gotta, have, have I gotta go?

(Do you wanna?)

I don’t wanna stop becoming a trend
They don’t have to see us try to pretend
Never wanted to be more than a friend (to you)

So here’s a toast to all the times that we spent
Maybe next time we’ll hold out ‘til the end
In the long run, can I depend on you?

I don’t understand where it’s goin’
I just saw my friends, they’re not throwing
All these open hands, they might show me
But it’s only you that can know me

Come share this love
Waking up
On my own
Two feet on stairs
Always land
Butter side up

Do you want to?
Do you want to?

Do you wanna, do, do you wanna know?
Have you gotta, have, have you gotta let it show?
I don’t wanna, I, I don’t wanna know
Have I gotta, have, have I gotta go?

I suspect a large amount of comments to be heading this way because of the Telus commercial... Hell of a catchy song, definitely, but kind of sketchy, too. I believe this song is about sex. Friends with benefits. Hence the line, "Never wanted to be more than a friend (to you)". Maybe they're falling for one another, but they break apart ("So here's a toast to all the times that we spent/Maybe next time we'll hold out 'til the end/In the long run, can I depend on you?") "Have you gotta... let it show? / / Have I gotta... go?"
