A dance 'round the memory tree Lyrics

Words we had said
Grew in my head
Colored I thought
Send me to bed

Lost memories
Grew into trees
Cover the doors
Swallow the key

Winters have come and gone you know
Winters have come and gone you know
But I’ll miss you young and free
For a dance round the memory tree

Said I forgot
But I did not
Dreams we have had
Play in my head

Did we believe,
The cry of the wind?
Did we regret?
Would we forget?

Winters have come and gone you know
Winters have come and gone you know
But I’ll miss you young and sweet
For a dance round the memory tree

I love how certain songs capture you from the beginning. As soon as I heard this in the closing credits of Prince Caspian I wanted to hear it over and over. I read somewhere that someone thinks it sounds like a christmas song. I wonder if it would have been better suited on the first movies soundtrack. Anyway, If I ever find the sheet music for this it would be wonderful.

I'm pretty sure it's "I'll meet you young and free/for a dance round the memory tree" I think that makes more sense than "I'll miss you young ans sweet/ for a dance round memory tree" It's sounds like it would be I'll se you again, but only in the memories that dance through my head, around and around, over and over.

The song is majestic! Whenever I listened to the song, I always deluded to be an elf on the woods, dancing around surrounded by trees at the beginning of autumn.
