Anyway.....I think the song is about being stuck in a situation where your too sacred to break out the mould and speak up. The cowards words, is saying nothing and doing nothing about it. It being a matter of time before something has to change !!

I agree its about being to afraid to speak out, if you don't tell the one you love how you feel then you will lose them forever
