GfC Lyrics
Inside me there's a sad machine, wants to stop movin'
I disagree for the things you do
You should stop doin' oh!
All the while...
All the while...
I want my frustrations
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool
In my head it's about to fall, all that is happenin'
Get what you would've changed to me
If you had it comin' oh!
All the while...
All the while...
I want my frustrations
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool
I want my frustrations
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool
I disagree for the things you do
You should stop doin' oh!
All the while...
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool
Get what you would've changed to me
If you had it comin' oh!
All the while...
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool
To know that you are all right
Not what I was doin'
You played a fool

Stoopidmonkey you're not the only one. G-F-C is the chord progression for the verse. (Emin-G-C-Amin is the chord progression for the chorus)
Question: Knowing that Gmaj-Fmaj-Cmaj is the progression for the verse, why is the f lowercase? I originally assumed Fmin therefore little f. It most definitely is Fmaj though not minor.
Any guesses? I'm stumped if it's a musical reference.
Song aside, does anyone else feel that Albert Hammond, Jr. has infinitely more music potential than the Strokes ever had? Dude is awesome. I wish more people have heard his stuff.
I love this song
Its amazing at what they can do with a guitar.
Seems like albert is frustrated about something. I would say a girl is cheating on him, or he likes a girl or possibly a friend who is on drugs and it frustrates him that he is doing it and hurting himself. Thats my guess.
oh, and brilliant guitar riff, very very catchy.
...what does GfC stand for?
I was wondering the same thing, tifnz.
G-f-C is the chord progression most likely
G-f-C is the chord progression most likely
it stands for the song's chord progression XD
The title GfC comes from what Albert wanted to originally call the song. the name he had for the song was going to be Grandfather Clock, however because that title was too long he shortened it to GfC
^ Am I the only one who grabbed their guitar and tried the chord progression idea? :(
No, me too!!
No, me too!!
Albert replied a tweet of someone who asked what GfC means saying that the working title for that song was Grandfather Clock, and then he changed it to GfC because it sounded cooler to him.
