My Only Offer Lyrics
So we kissed to, and caught a light
Those pictures on the wall
Small talk in a bedroom hall
Go to sleep and leave the light
I pretend to make a call
Lose talk in a bedroom stall
Is my only offer
Stifle copies of myself
Oh, oh, oh
Someone else
Give into our defeat
Its sick, when we believe
We're nothing, nothing, nothing
Now we need
Is my only offer
Stifle copies of myself
Oh, oh, oh
Someone else
The face in front of me
Beating a life
Sipped out the energy
Made out of finer things
Pile them high
So we could barely see it
Is my only offer
Oh, oh, oh
Is my only offer
Is my only offer
Stifle copies of myself
Oh, oh, oh
It's all I have to offer

I think its about think its about growing apart from your spouse after you fall in love and move into a house together. The "Built up a wall" verse seems to be about filling their house with lots of flashy distractions, so they "barely see" the rift growing between them...anyway you see it, amazing song, LOVE that piano!

God. here are the real lyrics.
Bought a home we bartered right. Two kids, Two car delight. Posed pictures on the walls. Small talk in the bedroom halls.
Can't make it home tonight. Go to sleep but leave the light. I pretend to make a call. Loose talk into bedroom stalls.
Oh, oh, oh is my only offer. Stifle copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, or someone else.
My friends they all agree. Give in to our defeat. In secret we believe, We're nothing, nothing, nothing that we need.
Oh, oh, oh, is my only offer. Stifle copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, or someone else.
I always wanted to be the face in front of me. Debating a life sucked out the energy. Build up a wall made ut of finer things. Piled in high so we could barely see it.
Oh oh oh is my only offer. Oh, oh, oh, my only offer.
Oh, oh, oh, my only offer. Stifle copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, it's all I have to offer.

I'd say it's aboout living life and being comfortable but not really happy. Pretending to live the perfect life, but having to sacrifice so much of yourselfs to do so. Losing who you really are, justified by material comforts.
But don't take my word for it...

This is a beautiful song. The new album is effing awesome

Infectious and catchy. Maybe it's about buying a house? I'm only looking at it straight on so I'm not quite sure. Or maybe it's about choosing what to offer of yourself to another person, your whole self or someone you don't want to be.

it's "in secret we believe, we're nothing nothing nothing that we need"

thank you griddle. it was killin' me.

In secret we believe, We're nothing, nothing, nothing that we need.

Slightly corrected real lyrics:
Bought a home we bartered right. Two kids, Two car delight. Posed pictures on the walls. Small talk in the bedroom halls.
Can't make it home tonight. Go to sleep but leave the light. I pretend to make a call. Loose talk into bedroom stalls.
Oh, oh, oh it's my only offer. Stifled copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, as someone else.
My friends they all agree. Give in to our defeat. In secret we believe, We're nothing, nothing, nothing that we need.
Oh, oh, oh, it's my only offer. Stifled copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, as someone else.
I always wanted to be the face in front of me. Debating a life sucked out the energy. Built up a wall made out of finer things. Piled it high so we could barely see it.
Oh oh oh it's my only offer. Oh, oh, oh, my only offer.
Oh, oh, oh, my only offer. Stifled copies of myself. Oh, oh, oh, it's all I have to offer.

I def agree its about growing up getting married and only being slightly happy with your life/spouse. they grew up and are all the things they wanted to be and now they are debating it and just bulit a wall of finer things to mask it.
