If we're both not married by twenty-two
Could I be so bold and ask you?
If we're both not married by twenty-three
Will you make my year, and ask me?
If we're both not married by twenty-four
Will you pass me those knee pads and I'll get on the floor
If we're both not married by twenty-five
I hope that there's some childish spark still alive
Cos there are so many lessons
That I just never cared to learn
And there are so many questions that still burn, like
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
If I get to thirty and I don't have a wife
I'll ask you nicely but I won't ask twice
If I get to forty and I don't have a spouse
I'll fashion you a letter and I'll send it to your house
If I get to sixty will you let me slip away
Into an armchair for the rest of my days
Cos you've got your family and I've got mine
The love that we share is for another time
Cos there are so many lessons
That I just never cared to learn
And there are so many questions that still burn, like
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Could I be so bold and ask you?
If we're both not married by twenty-three
Will you make my year, and ask me?
Will you pass me those knee pads and I'll get on the floor
If we're both not married by twenty-five
I hope that there's some childish spark still alive
That I just never cared to learn
And there are so many questions that still burn, like
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?
I'll ask you nicely but I won't ask twice
If I get to forty and I don't have a spouse
I'll fashion you a letter and I'll send it to your house
Into an armchair for the rest of my days
Cos you've got your family and I've got mine
The love that we share is for another time
That I just never cared to learn

Will you hold my hand when I go?
Will you hold my hand when I go?

The song from the CUTEST ritz cracker commercial
I couldn't believe it when I turned on the tv and heard these guys singing in the background of a ritz cracker commercial. I was like "I my god! it's Slow Club!" I was even more surprised than when I heard The Flatmates in the background of that Payless commercial. I didn't think they were that well known that they'd end up on a commercial. Anyways it's a great song that I love to listen to (Although "Sunday" is still my favourite). Good job Ritz.
love this song, it's so cute ! i heard it from the ritz commercial, too. lmao :)
Not so often these past years a song had me going aaaaawwwww. I call them "Simone and Garfunkel".
Oh man does this song bring back a flood of memories. I had a friend who would ask me to marry him constantly. It was a joke that irritated me to the point of no return, and I won't admit (vocally, at least) that some part of me did want to say yes. Anyway, when I'd finally snapped out of it and realized that this would turn into a pit I'd never be able to fill up I told him: "stop--please. stop asking me" and coincidentally, this song began to play on my itunes. That whistle still plays in my head every time we say hello, and needless to say I'm probably smitten. But oh well, its for another time.
Guess what. I badly felt in love of my best friend. I'm heart :(
