Freedom Lyrics

All my chains i can’t disengage
And i don’t believe that i want to
One hand sings your praise the other brings me shame
I have selfishness to blame

And i’m singing for freedom
I know i’m not the only one
Praying to the One
Who can bring me this freedom
And i’m ready for change

Broken down i lay
I keep holding my chains
No longer bound but here i stay
I scream Father please
I need rescuing i need You and You alone

And i’m singing for freedom
I know i’m not the only one
Praying to the One
Who can bring me this freedom
I’m ready for I’m ready for (change)

Still You patiently await
Yet i won’t just let go
I see You and You alone
Saying come follow me despair has come so You can see
Release

And so I’m singing for freedom
And so I’m singing for freedom

The time has come seperation lost the war to love
Take my hand grace has found You where you once began
Your alive You're alive in the waking of new life
Take my hand in the end there’s only love
There’s only love

There’s only singing for freedom
I know i’m not the only One
Praying to the One
Who can bring me this freedom
And I’m ready for I’m ready for
Father please i need rescuing
I need You and You alone

Genuine song. While listening to it, i was imagining a scenario in my mind from the lyrics, and guess what? tomorrow we will present our first ever original skit inspired by this song. Thanks to this great band❤️

wow what a pretty song. It's very rare that you get such good vocals and lyrics together...clearly this band has talent. Anyway, i think it's pretty obvious the song is about talking to god. i don't think he's praying exactly, more like asking for a fresh start. To me, the whole freedom aspect signifies him wanting to be free of his past so he can move on and become a better person

Awesome song. Surprised no one else has commented. But I agree totally with serenity that this is just breaking free from the past.

i was reading a enterview and the lead singer was saying that this song is about how we are already free but you need to relize it and do the things that god wonts you to do. I read it along time ago so i guess thats what I think

This song (according to my opinion, interpretation and leading of the spirit) is about a man, struggling with an addiction. He knows God however he still finds himself clinging to the addiction that ONCE bound him "no longer bound but here i stay" his chains are not binding him but he still holds them and he is begging for a new beginning, and when he finally discovers that all along he was free he just needed to accept the grace and realize it, he sings praises to Jesus. thats my interpretation

I think it could be a very deep song (as in ralting to a drug addiction or escaping the past) but more generally, I believe that its about sin and asking God to release him from the sin that he is living in. Sin binds us whether its as extreme as murdering or as simple as lying. Sins are strongholds on us and we are vulnerable to those strongholds by the flesh. This song is awesome because it takes you on a journey that all saved people have been in at one point or another. even people who have always lived for God have had this very moment; when you decide to lay it all down at the foot of the cross and allow the all knowing God to lead you. God will mold us if we allow Him to because He did afterall give us free will. There is freedom in allowing God mold you. "despair has come so you can see release." If you never get to a point of repepntance, how can God do a work in you? This song embodies finally letting go of sin, crucifying the flesh, and walking lovingly into a relationship with God.

There are some flaws in this posting of the lyrics though. There is a part of the song where God is speaking to him. In that case, you wouldn't capitalize "you" because its not refering to God, its refering to the singer. "Grace has found you where you once began. You're alive you're alive in the waking of new life. Take My hand."
