ex girlfriend syndrome Lyrics

I opened the door to your head
Tried going quietly
But I slammed the door instead

I yelled, "Why'd I even come here?"
But still I stayed for a while
Looked in every draw that I could find
Saw you calendar on the floor
You're not very organized are you?

I said to myself, I said to myself
"You should go, you should leave"
Good side pulling on my sleeve
But I stood there, I stood there
With a note from my head
Opposite of what my heart said

Oh I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know

I went through all your dirty laundry
Even those smelly socks
I wonder where, where those even came from
Saw everything you had lying around
From your deck of cards
To the way you feel about me
Just lying on the ground

I said to myself, I said to myself
"You should go, you should leave"
Good side pulling on my sleeve
But I stood there, I stood there
With a note from my head
Opposite of what my heart said

Oh I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know

I said to myself, I said to myself
"You should go, you should leave"
Good side pulling on my sleeve
But I stood there, I stood there
With a note from my head
Opposite of what my heart said

Oh I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know
I should not be here you know I should not be here you know (x2)

I thought it was:

"I opened the door to your head Tried going quietly But the door slammed instead I yelled, "Why'd I even come here?!"

and I'm pretty sure she sings, "you're not very organized, or are you?"

and I think it makes more sense as: "with a note from my head" because it's like she's asking her heart what it thinks not her head or something

sorry, don't mean to come off being all 'that's wrong' that's just what I thought I heard

anyway, I think she's singing about trying to see if she still has feelings for an ex but maybe he wasn't that good for her and she thinks she shouldn't be there again or even thinking about it again

or maybe she's trying to find out about a new guy and is wondering if he really is good for her too

thse lyrics are completely wrong.

anyway, the song was written when she was sixteen and she says it's about being with a guy and knowing too much about what he was thinking.

Yea, those lyrics- yours- or right. the ones posted are really wrong and don't make sense, but some, that i couldn't decipher on my own kind of do like. "you should go you should leave please stop pulling on my sleeve" she sings it so fast it sounds like "Gosh-ly, looks are pulling on my sleeve" which i thought meant his stare as she leaves makes her want to go back, but the other makes more sense.

I love this song. It means exactly what the title says. your an ex, but you don't nessacrily give him up. I know im bad at that. Still washing exes dirty laundry... its a great song.
