Smaller Lyrics
I don’t know you anymore
Twice the man you were before
Your sadness ever growing
Ever flowing tears all knowing
And it seems I’m getting smaller
Every day I feel minute
Or is it you who’s growing taller
And the world just follows suit
I’m afraid of what you’ll do
You’ve discovered something new
And it seems I can’t compete
I stand my ground but it’s effete
And it seems I’m getting smaller
Every day I feel minute
Or is it you who’s growing taller
And the world just follows suit
Twice the man you were before
Your sadness ever growing
Ever flowing tears all knowing
Every day I feel minute
Or is it you who’s growing taller
And the world just follows suit
You’ve discovered something new
And it seems I can’t compete
I stand my ground but it’s effete
Every day I feel minute
Or is it you who’s growing taller
And the world just follows suit

Personal Interpretation: The singer is in a relationship where her partner is growing in life in ways she perceives as positive where she feels any ways she is growing, or not growing at all, don't measure up in comparison.
She perceives that her partner is growing more and more unhappy with the differences in growth. While neither of them has ended the relationship, she feels it will be inevitable that he eventually will.
Extended Interpretation: The singer has self-confidence/self-worth issues and/or an issue getting motivated to pursue growth in directions she dreams of.
My interpretation
I think the singer feels minute when compared to the person she is referring to and because of this the singer thinks she is growing smaller I guess this songs theme is jealousy
Great song.
