What I Learned in the C.O.U.M. Lyrics
just as leafless trees are the nerve endings of the earth and streets are like paved veins. we walk down like blood cells. fold. all the scraps of paper folded in my pockets. writings, just words that do nothing anymore. vague and mistaken by all. i am left in this room with only thought. i lay on the floor and stare into the ceiling. into infinity. i dream of years from now. years which were never promised to me. i don't see anyone i know through the storm and chaos. the eye is always so calm. a year before i would have fallen apart. but not today. not anymore.

this is my favorite song on this album.
Seeing this song live was an experience that most should not miss. I cannot wait to see them again in August.
never got a chance to ask them what c.o.u.m. stands for, anyone know?

i asked them last year in long beach, Tim told me that COUM was a "art project" that later became the band Throbbing Gristle. they would play music with slide shows of a bunch of different images showing in the background such as, pornography, holocaust victims, and lots of other stuff. it was extremely controversial for it's time. search wikipedia for COUM Transmissions there is a little information about it on there.

this song is just... wow... such emotions
maybe you shouldn't compare them too much to funeral diner since it's a different band but they manage to give that same desperate, raw, feeling that only funeral diner could by far the favorite track on the album
I absolutely adore this song beyond words. It really sparks a lot of emotions for me.
