Growing Up Lyrics
Growing up
really fucking sucks
I've got too much stuff
I don't make enough
And soon I'm gonna turn to dust
I'm gonna turn to dust
And I am afraid I don't care.
Growing up
really fucking sucks
I've fallen down
and I can't get up
And soon
I'm not going to bother
I'm going to lay on the ground until I die
and I'm afraid I don't care.
Growing up
really fucking sucks
I want to fall in love
but I don't love anybody
And soon, there will be nobody
who will want to fall in love with me
And I'm afraid I don't care
really fucking sucks
I've got too much stuff
I don't make enough
And soon I'm gonna turn to dust
I'm gonna turn to dust
And I am afraid I don't care.
really fucking sucks
I've fallen down
and I can't get up
And soon
I'm not going to bother
I'm going to lay on the ground until I die
and I'm afraid I don't care.
really fucking sucks
I want to fall in love
but I don't love anybody
And soon, there will be nobody
who will want to fall in love with me
And I'm afraid I don't care

I just turned 29. And here I am, writing about a song on the internets. This song is definitely for me. Fuck.
well, let's begin.
"got too much stuff, don't make enough" is obvious--he doesn't have enough for all of what he's got in his possession, and believes it's going to start getting repossessed because he may be in dept, due to his "not making enough."
overall, this song is about him not caring if no one knows who he is or not, not caring if he or his music is popular, and not caring about if he falls in love or not. he's getting older and realizing these things, and thinks it "sucks" that he is just noticing all of this now, as opposed to having learned or realized it at a younger age so he could have started preparing for as he got older.
the 2nd verse is obviously about life alert
