The Four of Us Are Dying Lyrics

the title is the name of an episode of the twilight zone:

The Four of Us Are Dying is the name of an episode of the television show "The Twilight Zone".
It is the second to last song on the album The Slip.
The second to last song on the last NIN album was "In This TWILIGHT".
I've found the link!!!!!

I always wondered whether 'Where is Everybody?' off the Fragile was named after the Twilight Zone episode of the same name, now it seems like it was.
'Where Is Everybody?' was the first Twilight Zone episode ever by the way, and a great one too

so does trent have a fascination with the twilight zone? i guess he must, or at least he likes taking titles from their episodes and using it for his songs. this track is great, by the way. it's very addicting.

this song to me, shows the might of trent/NIN. Sim ply due to the release method, and the brooding tempo of the song, trent shows that its about the music over money. ThE SLip is a a continuance of the lessons hoped to have been learned in YEAR ZERO. Beautiful song, true fans can hear the tinges of TDS in the beat as well.

Absolutely breathtaking.

I know the title is a reference to the Twilight Zone episode and it featured a man who could alter his features. However, I swear when I listen to this I can actually hear the lives of four people wink out like defective Christmas lights, the bursts of high freq are the final moments followed by the complete destruction of what was there. Repeat. This may be my favorite NIN song, and it's a hell of a way to wake up in the morning.

Has anyone tried playing this song while watching the episode? I wonder if that could lead to anything. Yer Ma, I never knew about the Where Is Everybody episode. Wonder if something could be discovered there too. Just a thought.
On a side note, Is the Twilight Zone any good? I've never watched it but if Trent likes it, I might just have to give it a shot :)
My favorite show ever, definitely watch it!
My favorite show ever, definitely watch it!

I think this song is amazing, and has a wonderful sense of tension ("oh crap... we're going to die.") in it.
HOWEVER... I strongly recommend AGAINST listening to it if you're in a heightened state of anxiety or in the middle of a panic attack--it'll only make things worse. (I speak from experience...)
that being said, this is a great song to listen to in general. absolutely breathtaking.

@ nubbity - I don't know, if you look at the lyrics for Where Is Everybody? and watch the episode they're pretty much the same themes. Look at my post on the "Where is Everybody?" thread on this site for more info.
And trying to find links where none exist - thats what songmeanings.net is all about isnt it? ;-)
