The Bible and the Gun Lyrics
Pray to your lonely gods
There's so many left to choose from
They all can't be wrong
Should take
You should take a breath
Because in the end your just the same as all the rest
And you're caught between the bible and the gun
When everybody claims their god's the one
One, The one, The one
One, The one
Break what is in your way
Nothing stands between us
Or nothing will remain
And you're caught between the bible and the gun
When everybody claims their god's the one
One, The one, The one (x2)
One, The one
What you feel is only real if it's written in your heart
The word's designed to keep us apart
When everybody claims their god's the one
One, The one, The one (x2)
One, The one
The One,
One, The one, The one (x3)
There's so many left to choose from
They all can't be wrong
You should take a breath
Because in the end your just the same as all the rest
When everybody claims their god's the one
One, The one, The one
One, The one
Nothing stands between us
Or nothing will remain
When everybody claims their god's the one
One, The one, The one (x2)
One, The one
The word's designed to keep us apart
One, The one, The one (x2)
One, The one
One, The one, The one (x3)

What does this song mean to me? This song really hit me over the last few days when things didn't work out as I was hoping it would with a girl. I'm Catholic, not a staunch one but I have my beliefs. This song talks about people who are torn between doing what is right (the bible) and what they feel like doing (the gun).
And when we look for help everyone gives us soo many different answers that makes us even more confused cos they all claim they are right (their god's the one)
