Being Bad Feels Pretty Good Lyrics
Read between the lines
My self respect has died
You got me in a bind
I'll never be confined
You make me
You break me
And maybe it's draining
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
Fill me with your lies
A product of these times
I'll leave it all behind
I'll hunt from deep inside
You make me
Break me
And maybe it's draining
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
(Instrumental)
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
OK, you want it all the same
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
My self respect has died
You got me in a bind
I'll never be confined
You break me
And maybe it's draining
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
A product of these times
I'll leave it all behind
I'll hunt from deep inside
Break me
And maybe it's draining
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day
I will not be that way
I'll take it day by day

i think this song is about trying to break away from bad habits but its hard becasue being bad feels good
I like to play this song really loud while driving
i second that teemsleep...
i like this song, it's still got a good beat but is deffinately different to some of the other stuff on the album. i'm not sure, but maybe the persona feels used by someone: "my self respect has died" -the person feels foolish for being used and know's it's wrong. "you make me. / you break me." -they don't want to be used, they genuinely like the person and feel vunerable and damaged when they realise that they are being used. "and maybe it's draining" -they are tired of it and want things to change. "ok, you want it all the same" -as if to say "you don't want things to change and you want to remain in control" "i will not be that way. / i'll take it day by day" -suggests to me that the person no longer wants to be in this vunerable situation and no longer wants to be used. they are going to try their hardest to refrain from running back because they know it will just end in more tears and heart-ache. i might be totally wrong, but it's just a suggestion.(if not very a long-winded one, lol.)
agreed, this is awesome to blast with the windows down.
the song is just so upbeat, i have heard time seeing it as a "wahhh heartache" song. like iamsorry said, the person doesn't want to change who they are because they love what they've been doing.
Whatt? I can't believe no one ever caught on to the Breakfast Club referencce, for better or for worse I can't recall the names of the characters so i'll simply go by the stereotype they gave themselves. "Being Bad Feels Pretty Good" Is something that the "The Criminal" says to "The Princess" whenever they get out of the library and simply walk around the school for absolute no reason (I can remember exact quotes)"The Princess" says to "The Criminal" somethings along the lines as to what was the point? and then "The Criminal" says something like No reason, then "The Princess" just gives him like a wtf look and he responds "Being Bad Feels Pretty Good" and then he gives her one of those sexy smirks. Classic!
Maybe this song has to do something with realtionship similar to "The Criminal"&&"The Princess'" relationship you know how in the end they sort of had a thing going on? Well this song can DEFINETEELY be like the follow up to that relationship. "The Criminal" Is truly enfatuated with "The Princess" and therefore his criminal persona has sort of died off with the commencement of this relationship. (now let me break it down)"You got me in a bind I'll never be confined" The criminal is at a loss he can't choose he doesn't want to be forced into undoing what he has made of himself and doesn't want to be tied down, it goes against everythng he stans for."You make me You brake me" Is simply him saying altough you DO complete me (Don't mind the over cliche crap that might be included in here) You break me, you are changing me, you are making me (not as an forcing) be someone different than I was before.Well and basically because I am getting lazy and this is starting to become EXTRA long, I'll just leave it at "The Princess" wants "it all the same" as an wants him to just be like everyone with who she surrounds herself (preppy and what not) and altough he is opposing to her trying to change him (I will not be that way) but not ruling out the idea (I'll take it day by day) and basically he is torn he doesn't what is happening with him and if he is truly willing to change for "The Princess"
Soooorry so long AND bytheway. I Lovelovelovelove the Breakfast Club (Sure doesn't seem like it since I can't remember character names and quotes from movie :P)
this song is about the uneasy feelings of giving up my habits for my girlfriend; late nights, drugs, being in control. she is forcing me to let go of all these things and i feel that by doing so she is controlling me. i just can't let it happen like that.
..meant to thumbs you up friend.
