This song definitely sounds like it's geared towards the President and Iraq...basically "suffocate your own empire" probably implies that he's ruining the American empire....the beginning probably implies to him nonchalantly destroying and taking things without regard to what it actually is, hence "they're only toys"...at least that's what I think
I believe these lyrics are talking about Hitler and his lighting war (blitzkrieg). No one else in the world today (war wise) really believes that foreign souls are stolen. Read Mein Kampf maby thatll give u a hint its all about Hitler and hime killing German while trying to help it. What a way to go probably refers to his suicide as such it was a horrible way to go ( No i dont like Hitler suicide is horrible no matter who it is). Even the alternate videos "grey people" look to be more like there all the same which is what Hitler wanted.
This song is sick! When did shinedown get this heavy? I mean they weren't bad before but my god. We got a new disturbed on the loose.
wow if you knew what desturbed music was even about you would regret saying that stupid comment

Woah woah...easy on those accusations. I'm not slamming our country or our leaders, but artists often DO. Just because I think that the song might be talking about the Iraq War doesn't necessarily imply that I oppose it. Don't be so naive and stupid, and don't tell me what I do or do not believe. Thank you.
This song is definitely about the desire for some sort of foreign dish, probably a European cuisine. Just take it. Take it. Take it. No reason to fight over spilled spaghetti. Devour!
Besides being an awesome song and has something to do with politics and war. It's actually complicated for me to explain and I'm pretty sure someone will come up with a better explaination.
This is a great song, the whole album is great. Yes it's about the American Empire, and ok perhaps all the other ones too..Blessings to all....

It's just wiki, but I was just kinda browsing through and I saw this, so I don't really feel like going on some wild hunt for a completely creditable source.

"In a No. 1 countdown interview, vocalist Brent Smith said that the single was "a letter to the President," and that it is about Smith's distaste towards George W. Bush."

I don't like this song..
I've been a fan of Shinedown for a while, but this song just sounds too...simple and generic..
who are you kidding??? this song doesnt sound simple to me

Its pretty obvious that this song is geared towards politics and although it may seem "simple and generic" it speaks volumes. Shinedown has always been concerned about the war and has played in Iraq for the troops. This song, being released as a single to promote the album, was a real catch. It made people go "Is that really Shinedown?" and listen even more. I think this song is killer.
