a girl who get stood up on her birthday (all your friends have gone away so let's celebrate you're holding hope open for the one making you wait), so this guy her friend or whatever takes her out and he has clubbing in mind (lights and music) they both got up to some shiftys and his saying i wont lie (the secrets that we held that day will be kept straight) they took drugs and now he od'd and now he will wait for her in heaven and she should live her life untill they meet again

This song is about a one night stand embedded in the speakers mind and is brought to his memory every time he hears the song the two first danced to.

The girl is stood up by her friends and lover and he sees her. She's waiting for her friends and boyfriend especially (you're holding hope open for the one making you wait) and he convinces her to dance. (all your friends have gone away so let's celebrate)

She's already gone to far with him and feels like she might as well continue convincing her that he will keep it a secret (the secrets that we held that day will be kept straight) and if anyone found out it would be the end of her relationship and even friendships. (everyone will be dismayed if your promise breaks)

Even though it meant nothing to her and was probably a way of getting back at her friends and lover that deserted her he still longs for her (be my baby, one more time)

"you're holding hope open for the one making you wait" is such a great line.

Yay, 1st comment! I think this song is about a dude who is friends with this girl, and on her birthday they go out clubbing because none of her other friends like her anymore.

And perhaps he wanna make out with her - just a tad.. hehe..

I love this song... Have you noticed that all good songs coming out are 80's related? Put this song back in the 80's and it would have been a hit as it will be today! Showing my age, hey???

oh i see it! wow good call joocika. That whole cold and crystal line finally clicked. Basically I see this as it's the girls birthday and guy friend who wants to bang her takes her out clubbing. They end up getting fucked up on drugs and obviously the night turns out wayyy more intense than they'd bargained for

I really don't think any of the songs on this album are about drugs. I think in this song the guy and the girl had sex, but they don't think it would be a good idea to tell any of their friends. Unfortunately all her friends had to go away on her birthday but if she didn't go out with the guy to celebrate it might look weird so he tells her they should go out anyway. The guy still wants to get with the girl (be my baby one more time). The girl can get any guy she wants, and is depressed cause they only want her for her body (guy friend is cheerful and hopeful of getting lucky with her, especially since other friends aren't there). What she really wants is a guy who will treat her right and not just want sex (holding hope open for the one making you wait). The drugs does seem like it could also be right but I just don't think it ties in with the rest of the album.

i kinda thought it was about a guy at a girls house for her b-day. then all of her friends leave except him. and he is just a friend. but they had like a night they went clubbing and some stuff happened. and after all her friends leave he is kinda wanting for it to happen again or at least thinking about it. and they talk about it or something cuz u know it just happened. or it happens after her friends leave. u know somethin like that. but i do like joocikas idea.
