Soleil Lyrics

This has been a truly flawless education,
But we never learn
I'm looking in your eyes and I see a nascent flash of brilliance,
It's in there somewhere

So come on lets get ourselves lost out in the woods after dark and we'll share the danger
Feel it closing in until we see...

Soleil, I had a feeling you would come
Soleil, I had this feeling all along

Thinking that I'd lost everything I walk the ghostly streets at midnight
The kerbs are caving in
With the weight of every step crumbling east end tenement blocks away
The place is dissolving, then I see

Soleil, I had a feeling you would come
Soleil, I had this feeling all along

Cover art for Soleil lyrics by Iain Archer

The first time I heard this song, I felt like it was about two people who feel they had the whole word in their hands. The man singing feels a special connection with somebody, happy that they have finally found each other, and now it's them 'against the world'. that is a pretty external and obvious interpretation i know, and for a more "figurative" interpretation, you could say they are vampires.

it's a mystical song, I believe. He feels the SOLEIL, so happy 'the thing' has finally come.

who knows, maybe its about summer (the season)?
