Anywhere I Lay My Head Lyrics
My head
Is spinning round
My heart
Is in my shoes, yeah
I went and set
The Thames on fire
Oh, now
I must come back down
She's laughing
In her sleeve boys
I can feel it in my bones
Oh, but anywhere
I'm gonna lay my head
I'm gonna call my home
Well
I see that the world
Is upside-down
Seems that my pockets
Were filled up with gold
And now the clouds
Well they've covered over
And the wind is blowing cold
Well I don't need anybody
Because I learned
I learned to be alone
Well I said anywhere
Anywhere
Anywhere I lay my head
Boys
Well
I gonna call my home
Is spinning round
My heart
Is in my shoes, yeah
I went and set
The Thames on fire
Oh, now
I must come back down
She's laughing
In her sleeve boys
I can feel it in my bones
Oh, but anywhere
I'm gonna lay my head
I'm gonna call my home
I see that the world
Is upside-down
Seems that my pockets
Were filled up with gold
And now the clouds
Well they've covered over
And the wind is blowing cold
Well I don't need anybody
Because I learned
I learned to be alone
Well I said anywhere
Anywhere
Anywhere I lay my head
Boys
Well
I gonna call my home

Beautiful Tom Waits Cover
Love ScarJo's version of this.
This actually tops Tom Wait's version. It reminds me of Sophia Coppola's movies. The tone and atmosphere is similar.
It's very dreamy and seems light. Like rain dust.
loooove Scarlett's version! the whole album is great
this song would be perfect... if not for scarjo's voice. she's a briliiant actress and is absolutely stunning, but unfortunately you can't say the same thing about her singing abilities. what's more, it sounds computerized to the point that it's annoying. it's a shame, as the whole cd would be quite good with a stronger voice. oh well. kudos to her for trying.
