That '70s Song Lyrics

And lately I've been walking
From all these places that I cannot stand
I guess it's just my history talking
Now I'm refusing to supply your demands

You say the storm will pass
We'll work it out
The roads can get a little rough sometimes
I'm moving fast without a doubt
Our hearts will beat in separate rooms tonight
But tonight

Baby, we belong alone
This last second chance is blown
Baby, we belong alone
I've got another you at home
Baby, we belong alone, alone

And lately you've been knocking
But I never really listened or cared
'Cause when I told you I was walking
I was reeling her in with my stare

You say the storm will pass
We'll work it out
The roads can get a little rough sometimes
I'm moving fast without a doubt
Our hearts will beat in separate rooms tonight
But tonight

Baby, we belong alone
This last second chance is blown
Baby, we belong alone
I've got another you at home
Baby, we belong alone, alone

Baby, we belong alone
This last second chance is blown
Baby, we belong alone
I've got another you at home

Baby, we belong alone
This last second chance is blown
Baby, we belong alone
I've got another you at home
Baby, we belong alone, alone

for a while ... i thought it was "and when i told you i was ROCKING, i was reeling her in with my stare" and not "... i was walking"

whooops :/ haha i still love this songgg <3

and i think it's about a couple, and they've been fighting a lot, going through tough times, etc. this isn't their first time dating, there have been many tries before (This last second chance is blown). she wants to work it out, and he obviously doesn't (You say the storm will pass, We'll work it out, The roads can get a little rough sometimes, I'm moving fast without a doubt, Our hearts will beat in separate rooms tonight). He knows that he can get other girls to do the same things she can (Baby, we belong alone I've got another you at home).

in other words, it's about being in a relationship where one person cares a lot, but the other one could just care less and wants to enjoy the single life. i can definitely relate.

I love this song.. My favorite from the new album actually..

But a few corrections for the lyrics posted above:

On the first stanza, it's actually "Or I'm refusing to supply your demands"

Then on the second stanza, it should be "Cause when I told you I was rocking, I was reeling her in with my stare".

Great song!

Goodness that disco ball comment was epic.

It's true and I'll have to second that notion (:

Lol, everytime I think of this song now, it reminds me of the catchiness of 70's and the Disco Ball.
