I descended a dusty gravel ridge
Beneath the Bixby Canyon Bridge
Until I eventually arrived
At the place where your soul had died

Barefoot in the shallow creek,
I grabbed some stones from underneath
And waited for you to speak to me

And the silence; it became so very clear
That you had long ago disappeared
I cursed myself for being surprised
That this didn't play like it did in my mind

All the way from San Francisco
As I chased the end of your road
Cause I've still got miles to go

And I want to know my fate
If I keep up this way

And it's hard to want to stay awake
When everyone you need, they all seem to be asleep
And you wonder if you missed your dream

You can't see a dream
You can't see a dream
You just can't see a dream

And then it started getting dark
I truged back to where the car was parked
No closer to any kind of truth

i almost feel bad for ben because in one view you cant have it all you cant be famous and get the girl its one or the other and i also think thats the basis of most of his music all most all of his music is about a break up or is about a girl and i think he is is a slight depression because he cant find someone to love and he feels lonely like he has over 25 songs about a girl or a break up

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
