I'm Not Scared Lyrics
January clipped your wires
The summer went straight through your tires
Every faded sign that passed you
Used to point the way towards you
Lately you've come to enjoy the generosity of strangers
The mechanisms you imply
And you've gone, you know that I'm not scared to go home
We have got to know, know that I'm not scared to go home
Instruments they leer towards you
Every fallen stone that passed you
Used to form a wall around you
Maybe you've come to rely on the generosity of strangers
The mechanisms you imply
You've gone, you know that I'm not scared to go home
We have got to know, know that I'm not scared to go home

I thought the hook went like this:
"The mechanisms you employ They may have got you known But I'm not scared to go home They may have got you known, known But I'm not scared to go home"
But I could totally be wrong...
100% CORRECT lyrics.
I'M NOT SCARED
january clipped your wires the summer went straight through your tires every faded sign that passed you used to point the way towards you lately you've come to enjoy the generosity of strangers the mechanisms you employ they may've got you known but i'm not scared to go home they may've got you known, known, but i'm not scared to go home

@MusicJunkie09 Yes, these are correct, thanks.

"You've come to enjoy the generosity of strangers" I think that might mean something about sleeping with people you don't really know. Or maybe it could mean something like how they just tell people stuff and they listen to them.
I think song is about someone who feels lost, probably boarding on a breakdown (january clipped your wires) because they tried to be perfect and meet everyone else's needs(sign that passed you, used to point towards you). So, they are finally left vulnerable to others (stones fallen, wall around you). But they still have their dignity despite being an almost wreck. (i'm not scared to go home).
Candycakes has it more correct I think. Anyway, its' DEFINITELY "employ" and not imply. Makes more literary sense that way, and it just sounds like it.
I agree, I think "candycakes"'s lyrics are spot-on correct. Employ, as in use, works far better than Implore, or beg.
Also, the second verse's first line is missing. It sounds to me like:
"Light aircraft they overfly you Instruments they veer towards you"
And "veer" instead of "leer". Why would instruments be looking in a lascivious manner? Instruments flying toward you in the context of that verse makes a little more sense.
And am I the only one that sometimes here "December went straight through your tires" instead of "The summer"? Maybe it's just the January bit in the earlier line has me stuck on months...
Maybe I'm overanalyzing, but it reminds me a lot of something like Tom Wolfe's "You Can't Go Home Again." It's like they're singing to someone who's left and made it big, but in a way that won't let them come back home.
January clipped your wires [In january, you lost touch with "home"] The summer went straight through your tires [spent all year traveling around] Every faded sign that passed you Used to point the way towards you [you're becoming famous and well-known] Lately you've come to enjoy the generosity of strangers [rather than being surrounded with true friends, you're involved with people who are basically strangers] The mechanisms you employ They may have got you known But I'm not scared to go home [The things you do may have gained you notoriety, but at least I don't have to worry about going back to where I came from]
That's how it reads to me, at least.
I like hhadzimu's interpretation, specially on this one: Lately you've come to enjoy the generosity of strangers [rather than being surrounded with true friends, you're involved with people who are basically strangers]
