Anarchy in the UK Lyrics

I've figured out how to paint by numbers
by one shade of lipstick
To easily amused to be a poetic or a mystic
contented clipping coupons from the tabloids for redemption
for attention

I was seventeen, sat on the lap of a local rebel
he was living in a world so safe he had to look for trouble
I thought, 'how unlucky is he to be so overprotected
and neglected'

he said
I wanna be anarchy

I've always been here, it's been like i never existed
overlooked by the authorities, who sanitize the district
suddenly they're onto me and i can't keep a secret
they always find it

When i was 17 i thought i had a cause to champion
I was hopeful and naive, it was easy to believe in
I thought how hard can it be?
I'm not afraid of giving everything
Everything

I'd give anything for passion

I, I'm already free
I wanna be anarchy

I wanna be anarchy

Haha you're everywhere!

Is this a cover? Or just a blatant allusion? Either way it's straightforward and genius. Especially the "wahhh".

lol, i heard that she took the chorus but made up the verses herself.

what "wahhh" are you referring to?

"waah can it be? i'm not afraid of giving everything."

it makes me long for being one year younger again. since i'm still finding a cause. the visual imagery in the song is just so powerful, from casual opening remarks about subtle passive female traits, to how clean a burnout can be... for passion.

oops i edited the wahh part, i guess i typed that in wrong. and haha you're everywhere too.

Why are people even questioning if this is a cover? This is obviously a completely different set of lyrics
