Let Me Go Lyrics
Here I am
On the edge
Of my glass
Looking down down
And I can't
Fight the past
Its so easy
Looking down down
Bottoms up
What's one more?
Now when I look down
I can see the floor
Through my glass
No one asks
They all know that
I've been down
Yes, everything's fine and thanks for asking
I'll make it home alright you know you're testing
The little patience that I've fabricated
You know you wanna give in
You think I've seen the light
And if that's what you believe
Then baby its alright
Just let me go
Just let me go
I'm a pro
In self doubt
I'll just take this with me
On the way out
Find myself
On the floor
Is this all there really is?
Just this once
I'll take help
Keep it on the low
Down
Don't say
One more word
The air's heavy
And I can't
Yes, everything's fine and thanks for asking
I'll make it home alright you know you're testing
The little patience that I've fabricated
You know you wanna give in
You think I've seen the light
And if that's what you believe
Then baby its alright
Just let me go
Just let me go
I am going through the motions
Its what everyone wants to see
I am looking for emotions
Or the lack of inside of me
And even though it's hard to shake this thing when its on your back
When you're next to me
You make me feel like I could do that
Yes, everything's fine and thanks for asking
I'll make it home alright you know you're testing
The little patience that I've fabricated
You know you wanna give in
You think I've seen the light

What a perfect song to play at then end of episode 1.9 of of the TNT show "HawthoRNe."
I think the song is about a woman battling alcohol addiction and the chorus is her telling her boyfriend that he should stop worrying about her.
I think that what she means is that something has occurred between her and a friend/family/significant other and she doesn't wish to talk about it. She wishes to be alone, and let's people know she is all right. She keeps to herself even when she know there is something going on, she chooses to deny it in order to keep her mask of assurance.

And she finds comfort from that someone next to her.. she's not alone then. If you listen to the song, you can hear how she settles down, then get's back up and harder. She's fighting...

Sorry but I don't see any of that.

To me it's clearly about a woman that's currently sober but having a hard time trying to stay that way since the bottle keeps tempting her.

Her boyfriend or husband or whatever loves and supports her and she appreciates that but she hates how he keeps asking if everything is fine.

And her friends and family all know about her struggle with alcoholism and wonder if she'll break the habit or not for good.
