Forever Can Be Lyrics
It must’ve been very hard
To have lived and never learned
To be content with who you are
We all want the same things don’t we?
To find the one to unlock the chains to our hearts
A path you never found on your own
Forever can be something to believe in
This was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
This is one of those times
So you dug deep down inside yourself
You reveal the moments, the pain to me
What makes you who you are?
We all want you to see the you we see
The one who carries the world’s tragedies alone
The cross you chose to bear upon your own
Forever can be something to believe in
Wish this was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
And this is one of those times
For those you left behind
Save the world so you don’t have to save yourself
You save the world so you don’t have to look at yourself
And still the void left inside your fragile heart
Those haunted images never left you alone
Forever can be something to believe in
This was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
Now this is one of those times
To have lived and never learned
To be content with who you are
We all want the same things don’t we?
To find the one to unlock the chains to our hearts
A path you never found on your own
This was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
This is one of those times
You reveal the moments, the pain to me
What makes you who you are?
We all want you to see the you we see
The one who carries the world’s tragedies alone
The cross you chose to bear upon your own
Wish this was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
And this is one of those times
For those you left behind
You save the world so you don’t have to look at yourself
And still the void left inside your fragile heart
Those haunted images never left you alone
This was one of those times
Forever can be something to bleed for
Now this is one of those times

This is a very inspirational song to me. The music is sad but Billy's voice is so uplifting to me. It's basically about believing in love and sharing your thoughts with others to open up and share after digging deep inside yourself. Just my two cents.
i think its about someone who is trying to be gain self control,be a good person,
who is looking for atonement,so he saves other people
he doesnt think hes worthy of anything good,so he goes on with an infoerioty complex.
hes been through a lot of bad things, and thinks he can handle them on his own,and refuses help cause he doesnt want anyone to see hes weak.
a martyr
The one who carries the worlds tragedies alone The cross you chose to bear upon your own
im just kinda throwing this out there but it seems like it could be talking about God's love or for people's love for God. My main reason is the line "the cross you chose to bear alone" that line kinda gave me a new take on the song
a song about a person searchin for salvation and faith, while having trouble to let go of some past that has left a deep scar. As the person continues to search for a higher purpose and to be able to find faith and purpose in life
"Definitely nothing to do with god, faith or salvation."
you shouldn't be so hasty to close your mind or put down the ideas of others.
I really do love this song.
I think this song is about someone who was emotionally scarred at a young age, someone with very low self-esteem and eventually committed suicide, hence the part "Forever can be something to believe for, Forever can be something to bleed for" I think that line would indicate heaven. Like when someone kills their self people around them would hope that they could be happy for once and a place like heaven would be that place. But I don't think Billy is a religious man so hes just saying it would be nice if there was such a place. I dunno, thats just what I think.
I think this song is about helping a friend though a dark depression. "We all want you to see the you we see, The one who carries the world’s tragedies alone, The cross you chose to bear upon your own"
When you're depressed, you don't see how much you've changed but other people do - very clearly in fact. I think the whole of idea of "Forever can be" is just an another way of saying 'the infinite [heaven, redemption, self-forgiveness, etc] is possible if you let it'
Great song.
Holy shit.
"We all want you to see the you we see"
That's one of the best lines I've heard in ages. So simple but it says so much. I agree that it's about helping someone through a dark depression. Basically, the narrator is encouraging someone to keep going because it doesn't end here, he/she could leave a different legacy.
This is an incredible song.
I think el cake had it the closest imo.
To me he is talking about someone who never loved anyone or themselves, and chose to give up and accept that as their fate, then taking it upon themselves to bear the weight of others over themselves, never accepting themselves and being to ashamed to come to that realization. Yet everyone around yourself tried to prove to you that you are not this, (We all want you to see the you we see) but instead of realizing it you just ignored them and continued bearing the "weight"; instead of admitting that you where sad or alone, just wanting someone to love you in a way. And finally letting it all go, realizing you don't have to "save" everyone to let go.
This hits me hard, I used to be a lot like this. Wish I found this song sooner ;)
