The Afterglow Lyrics
I'm the fervor of the fever
you can't sweat.
I'm the garments,
drenched and dripping wet..
you could soon shed.
I'm a spring of flowing fume,
I'm the melody stuck in your head,
stuck in your head..
..and I don't mind the afterglow.
No, I don't mind the afterglow.
I don't mind...
I don't mind.
you can't sweat.
drenched and dripping wet..
you could soon shed.
I'm the melody stuck in your head,
stuck in your head..
I don't mind.

Again, it's kinda self explainitory; this was added to their myspace page after they announced that they were 'breaking up'.
"I'm the fervor of the fever you can't sweat." They can't 'sweat out' the fact that Brendan is leaving due to the fact that he has a family.
"I'm the melody stuck in your head, stuck in your head.." Obviously, they're songs (or the band as a wole) will be stuck in our (the listeners) head forever.
"..and I don't mind the afterglow.
No, I don't mind the afterglow."
The afterglow being the memories and mark they've left on the music industry, and the general fact that their songs made an impct on some people, and that they get listened to.
this has to do with "the crop & the pest". it takes most of its lyrics from that song. the lyrics are pretty ambiguous, but even so, it's a stretch that it would have anything to do with the band breaking up. the lyrics probably retain their original meaning from "the crop & the pest".
