Yes, Dustin stated that it was the elements, not god. Just because he is a christian dosn't mean every song he writes is about god/christ.

on the topic of the song: I loved the sonnets for the first to(fire, water) and I love this one. they all have the same feel or idea, that humanity mis-interperates them and tries to use, control, or blame them for somthing. Also, the sonnets could be used to sum up each bit.

You mean to suggest that Dustin puts His beliefs off to the side to write His music? He would write songs so deep and intelligent that he just puts his own thoughts and beliefs off to the side?

If you're an open God-hater that is one thing. But use a little common sense please. What great work has an artist produced where he pushes all he believes off to the side when creating his work

Im sorry you hate the thought that such amazing writing/music comes from a Christian and find it easier to listen too the music, by being blatantly stubborn about the thoughts behind it.

Maybe the reason its so appealing to you is because you're getting a real taste of what insight Christianity is like!

Brings tears to my eyes. It is an unbelievable personalization of the element of Air and how it is pleading mankind to treat it more respectfully instead of putting it in danger. Almost all the end songs in the Alchemy index four part end with the respective element directly conveying their thoughts to mankind and Air by far is the most vulnerable and fragile element depicted. Like a sad mother.

Well the lyrics that are up as of now are wrong but I will submit the corrections that I know about. I think that the meaning is pretty clear.

As Dustin said, the sonnets each embody the relationship between man and the respective element. For Air, it talks extensively about its many benefits and the fact the it is unappreciated for all it does. In particular it references things like breathing, cooling off, utilizing wind power for transportation and energy etcetera. And all these things we experience on a daily basis, yet we never stop to thank the wind or even recognize that they happen.

The sonnet is at the end of the song, "After all of this I am amazed, That I am cursed far more than I am praised"

Which I think it means: After everything we use air for, including just breathing it in our lungs all of our lives, we are destroying it by pollution and we seem to be doing nothing to stop it.

The sonnet is the entire song Davidmoon. A sonnet is a fourteen line poem in iambic pentameter. That means it has fourteen lines, each line contains ten syllables, and every other syllable is stressed. Each stanza also has an ABAB rhyme scheme and the last two lines are just AA.

The end of the song is the portion that is repeated in each of the four sonnets. If you listen to the last track on each element's respective disc, you will notice that the melody for each is the same.

For Air it goes "And after all of this I am amazed/ That I am curse far more than I am praised."

Fire: "But who will stand to greet the blinding light?/ It's lonely when there's no one left to fight."

Water: "But Grace can still be found within the gale./ With fear and reverence raise your ragged sail."

Hope that clears it up. The sonnet is the whole thing not just the end.

I agree with sabio for the meaning, it's from Air's perspective.

But as for the song itself, for whatever reason I'm drawn to it. I think it's one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, and I'm not exaggerating. Musically, Lyrically, Spiritually, and any other aspect, it's incredible, to me at least.

Yeah, I can kinda see all of the sonnets in a way symbolizing God and just his discontentment with the rebellion of his creation. Like fire would be God saying how He doesn't like how people declare war in his name and fight for things that they claim to be "God-driven" like the Crusades for example. And Water would be God saying that man has tried to become more and more like Him but He still conquers all. But yeah, you get the point.

Well i think dustin had said that it was the elements speaking to the people (I might be wrong though).
