Dr Doom Lyrics
Take this job and shove it.
im not here to break ground,
im not dressed to impress.
im here for me and the few who care to listen.
im not dressed to impress.
i hope your ears bleed.
i hope your skin crawls.
may you live forever.
you say jump we say how high.
720 and face down on the interstate.
i cant see my legs, i cant move my arms
and my vision is blurred.
white lines on a white road under a white sky.
his head was crushed.
what good is this thing if you cant use it to call for help?
no headlights, no sirens, no eulogy.
four funerals, no fucking wedding.
and the blood runs down the mountain
im not here to break ground,
im not dressed to impress.
im here for me and the few who care to listen.
im not dressed to impress.
i hope your skin crawls.
may you live forever.

Wow you guys take songs so literally it gives me a headache. I'm almost positive Vincent Bennett has said that this song is his form of a "tour" song and how tiring being on the road is. It makes more sense then him writing from a perspective of a comic book character.
i love how much they want people to suffer for their actions
Is it about someone who hates there job and quits on the way home hes gets in a multiple car pileup he tries to call for help but his phone dosent work so he and 4 others die, and maybe he was engaged to someone or some other person involved were. Thats my literal take on the song. PS i love it.
I think people put too much thought into Vincent's lyrics. He just writes about deviant sexual and horrible criminal acts. He tries to make the most ruthless lyrics, showing no mercy to anyone. I am really appreciating the concept of World Domination on Continent.
Agreed. I don't think there is any hidden meaning. It's not the Davinci Code

drunk driving!
Did anyone ever hear the Demo version of this song?
Vincent explained live that this song is basically a big "Fuck you" to the world
I could see how this song would be about touring, but I could also see how it could be about Dr. Doom. I don't think it really is about the good Doctor, but Patriz had a good point.
to me, this song sounds like something vincent wrote about touring and how sick of it he was at the time. it sounds like it's directed towards the people who listen to his music ("i hope your ears bleed") and his record label ("take this job and shove it"), and his imagined scenario of the band dying in a car crash ("four funerals, no fucking wedding!"). i think the dr. doom idea came after the fact that vincent realized it could be a double entendre, so he titled the song after dr. doom.
I hate to say this because it's so obvious that it's dumb, but this song is about the Fantastic Four. For anyone who knows (for example, seen the movies], Dr. Doom is Dr. Victor Von Doom, played by the guy from Nip/Tuck and Charmed. Four funerals (Fantastic Four), no fucking wedding (mr. fantastic and the invisible woman's engagement and marriage are major plot points). The reason Dr. Doom is so angry about the wedding in particular is that he was in love with the Invisible Woman.
