Well, in my opinion, this song is about just living, and not trying to plan things out (You can forget our future plans) because things just happen.
And we leave behind relics, records, and numbers to try and show our importance when in reality, no one really knows what's going to happen next, so you should just wait and see (while we wait while we wait).

and what the songs about? making plans with a person, yet they throw it all away? so the singer doesnt really see any point in making plans with them.
