This is amazing. I believe what Avey is trying to represent in this song is reaching a higher consciousness by mimicking such a natural thing as water. Being an artist, well being a good artist means being able to take the consciousness of the world and replicate or express it through an art form. When he says "I want to be like water and never have a doubt and reflect what is around my pool" he's basically saying I dont want to doubt the people around me as not being in the same consciousness as me. We as humans are reflections of each other. Our minds come from the same consciousness just put in different bodies. Also in the lines, "when you wake up from your snoozin' i'll tell you how to do it my way i'll tell you what I'm doin' there's a knife up in the drawer." I believe he's referring to this low level of spirituality that exists in our western culture. A lot of people are completely spiritually unconscious therefore kind of walking around in a comatose like state working there 9-5's and getting all of there knowledge from the noise box in the corner of there living rooms. Therefore they are "snoozin'" in low vibrations. Most of the answers to finding god are in this song. Something you could learn from a hallucinogenic experience as well. But take it from Animal Collective, they know what's really good!

The mood this song creates is too good to only last 3 minutes. I ususally have to listen to this song more than once =) I also hear something like "so I can play my drums" but I'm not too concerned about the lyrics, although they are quite brilliant.
The one line I'm almost positive about that's different from the ones here is: "And all the things that I relate to well like goggles and paint tubes."
It should be "mesh of drool" at the beginning.
