Hallie Lyrics

Hallie I still love you anyway,
You don’t have to take back what you said,
You’re so full of yourself, you’re so full of yourself,
There’s no room for anything else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

At the start, your face lit like a church
And cross myself deaf, dumb and getting worse,
So we tumble inside the length of your dress,
No one’s talking to anyone else,
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I’m just trying to catch up with you,
But you’re always changing,
Hallie, I know I’m a fool,
Cause you’re always changing,
Hallie, but you’re always changing,
But you’re always changing,

Hallie, now that Winter’s on our tongue,
We make plans, but can’t keep up with ‘em,
Those black flowers keep pushing up through the ground
I just want to push ‘em back down, oh
Cause you got all your fortunes and little games, Hallie,
I still want to hear your name,
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I’m just trying to catch up with you,
But you’re always changing,
Hallie, I know I’m a fool,
Cause you’re always changing,
Hallie, but you’re always changing,
But you’re always changing,

Cover art for Hallie lyrics by Mobius Band

I think the song’s about this guy who’s extremely in love with this girl, but has trouble “keeping up with her” as her personality is all over the place. It could be because of some disorder, or just because she is a flake afraid of commitment. But this is why the guy likes her so much. The girl knows she is bringing the guy down somewhat because of her antics, but the guy is trying to express to her that it doesn’t matter because his feelings for her are deeper than that. And so they go, him trying to catch up to her like she’s a $100 dollar bill blowing around in the wind. She’s so beautiful to him, he’ll do whatever it takes, for however long to get her.
