oh god take this weight from off my back
and watch it go
we watch you go

oh god wipe the sweat from off my brow
it's not your fault
it's not your fault

dear friend
have you forgotten what you've seen
and changed your mind?
you change your mind

I know we are all afraid to be alone
so we go home

outside
through grass
you cried yourself to sleep
blankets in the grass
you looked the same as me

two weeks
and I am starting to regret
the words I said
the words I said

doors locked
and you are sweeping every thought
beneath your bed
beneath your bed

outside
through grass
you cried yourself to sleep
blankets in the grass
you looked the same as me

outside
through grass
you cried yourself to sleep
blankets in the grass
you looked the same as me

I just think it's a beautiful song, and the girl who's singing it with him has a great voice as well as him. It reminds me of relaxation, and peace. But I don't know what he's aiming for and the best answer you can get is from the artist themselves. :)

It reminds me of maybe a boy and girl who were together and the boy gave up on God, and the girl loves him but chooses God over him, and his decisions hurt them both.

I love love love this song and I think that this song is about illness and how it kills not only the person sick with it, but the people who love him/her. The boy is sick with a serious illness and he promises the girl that he'll make it through. "oh god wipe the sweat from off my brow it's not your fault it's not your fault" - He's saying that's it not her fault, he'll make it through. "two weeks and I am starting to regret the words I said the words I said" - He is starting to regret telling her he can make it through because he knows he cannot live. "outside through grass you cried yourself to sleep blankets in the grass you looked the same as me" - He looks out and sees her, and she looks just as sick as he does. It's killing her, too.

i think it has a lot of differnt meanings depending on how you interpret it. i dont really see how its about dieing but i suppose it could be. i think its more about breaking up and how there both going through alot and the guy is starting to regret breaking up and they both go back to each other because thats what they know and they dont want to be alone i could defently be wrong
