In My Arms Lyrics

Here, my dear
This is where
We'll shake the nightmares free

I dream to hold you in my arms
I dream to hold you in my arms
To hold you in my arms
Wide awake in my arms

I think I figured it out
We need to be together
Like the shore and the sea
We are not one thing
We're drawn here together
My ocean and me

I dream to hold you in my arms
I dream to hold you in my arms
To hold you in my arms
Wide awake in my arms

Love we sleep apart
For the last time
For the last time

I dream to hold you in my arms
I dream to hold you in my arms
To hold you in my arms
Wide awake in my arms
Wide awake in my arms
Wide awake in my arms
Wide awake in my arms

I think that this is a beautiful song about the time right before a wedding. The line where he says "Love, we sleep apart For the last time, for the last time" makes me think that they will finally be married and together forever. I'm not positive... they are just my thoughts.

I like your wedding explanation, lifebound. I'm not married, but being committed to purity before marrriage, I've often thought that the best thought on the day before your wedding is that the next day you'll simply be able to hold the other person in your arms until you both fall asleep.

I absolutely love this song. Fiance is a huge Switchfoot/Jon Foreman fan, so I was so excited when I was the one who found this song. We're using it as our first dance at our wedding (100 days away!); the line "Love, we sleep apart" was SO fitting for us.
