Water from a Vine Leaf Lyrics
[feat. Beth Orton]
And you start swimming and swimming
And swimming and swimming
And you never stop swimming until you reach the ocean
And you're swimming into the sunset without me
And I find myself suddenly waking up
And there are four young girls
Giving me water from a vine leaf
Just dropping it onto my tongue
Nothing more
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
Nothing more
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
Nothing more
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
Break on through
Release me
Break on through
Release me
Break on through
Release me
And swimming and swimming
And you never stop swimming until you reach the ocean
And you're swimming into the sunset without me
And there are four young girls
Giving me water from a vine leaf
Just dropping it onto my tongue
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
You surround me
Break on through
Release me
Release me
Break on through
Release me
Break on through
Release me

Great song by Orbit in his prime. Having Beth around can't hurt either.
To me, this song is about a woman consumed by worry over a lover who might disappear or abandon her. The first stanza's nightmare might be a case of dream incorporation, involving water from the second stanza.

She's splashed into consciousness by the girls. However, it seems her obsessions will continue to haunt her in the waking hours.
