This could be one of those days
That we must go our separate ways.
Scared for you to be out of my sight,
Because you never know, you might.

And I carry this
It's heavy.
And I miss you
Already

You were perfect babe.

My time will come
Yours too.
I'll gladly go before you.

I hope you live forever,
Or maybe we can go together.

It would be perfect baby.

And I carry this,
It's heavy.
And I miss you
Already

To me this song seems to be about the death of a loved one. Also I believe the second verse is: "My time will come, yours too. I'd gladly go before you. I hope you live forever. Or maybe we can go together."

With this in mind I definitely think it's about a death, and how he finds it hard to come to terms with and wishes the person would outlive him, such is his love for them.

The first verse sort of makes me think it's about suicide ("Scared to let you out of my sight, 'cuz you never know... you might") A person who is insecure and whom he suspects is considering suicide?

Also, the synth solo that comes in at 1:40 gives me a real vivid image of someone floating towards Heaven. Although maybe that's just me, but this song means a lot to me so just throwin' that out there.
