Cacophony Lyrics

Oh come on please, split from the sky
Oh this river, has grown so wide
We need some change, some kind of sign
Oh yeah the human hearts so cold and blind

These modern times, there just not right
I said lets go, I set this up
All on our knees, I beg and pleas
We got sweat drippin down over brows
Got sweat drippin down over all the clocks throughout town

Cacophony, how long will be?
Oh I can see the singer rising from the floor he wont leave
Its all becoming, its all beginning
Two stiff fingers for a left right blessing
it keeps it running, it keeps its message
Keeps the rhythm of confessing

Oh lost in town, i feel your sound
I hear you plea, your banged drum
I see the tear, roll down your cheek
Your so beautiful ingrained out loud

Into the dirt, the muddy curve
We hear the man, its covering
We feel the sweat, see the tail
Collecting underneath ourneath our fingernails
Laying underneath our sheets and covers, covering our mouths

Cacophony, how long will be?
Oh I can smell the smoke from burning buildings
Its all becoming, Its all beginning
Two stiff fingers for left right blessing
It keeps it running, keeps its message
Keep on confessing, lie aloud lesson

Its all becoming, Its all beginning
Two stiff fingers for left right blessing
It keeps it running, keeps its message
Keep on confessing, lie aloud lesson

Such an awsome song. I'm pretty releived that Beat Control isn't (hopefully) what the new album is gonna be like. This is what tilly should be.

I'll be honest - when I first heard Beat Control, I was sure we'd lost Tilly as we once knew them. But, hey, I can support bands trying out new sounds and such.

But this is the Tilly we all know and love, and I'm certainly glad to have them back.

PS I think it's "my" two stiff fingers.

[Cacophony, how long will it be] until "our" dull Christian lives are stimulated?!

two stiff fingers for a left right blessing = that "sign of the cross" Christians do over their chests. Father, Son, Holy Spirit, you know.

I picture a smoky northeastern town being prodded at with this song. Where the fathers cough with the sitcoms while the mothers forever gaze out of kitchen windows. It might be from their children's perpective, asking why it's so dull as they "confess", but I think it could be any bored Christian-born.

the above explanation makes sense.

Cacophony... i use that word too much in english class already. now i'll overuse it even more.

im glad to see others were disappointed with beat control, but did not give up when they heard this!

wtf? Beat Control is the bomb. I think it is SO Tilly. I love it and have you heard it live?? But I also think Cacophony is totally Tilly.

yeah, i got depressed when i heard beat control. but o is certainly not disappointing.

I doubt this song has anything to do with Christianity. The 'left right blessing' as the sign of the cross DOES make sense.

But that's pretty much is.

And in case anyone was wondering what Cacophony means, it's like a loud, unorganized, unmanaged sound. i.e. what Manhattan traffic sounds like, amusement parks on busy nights, or a sportsbar.

Hmmm, I love this song - and that word, 'Cacophony', really. I often find myself listening to this time and time again :o)
