Combustion Lyrics

No more ifs, no bias, no ambiguity
No wondering whether this is it
Clarity so brightly shining
The image so painfully absolute

No edges blurred on this awareness
No unknown weight to tip the knowledge scales
Eyes dilated to grasp it all
As every illusion of what we are fails

An unquestionable picture - determined, complete
Its crystalline lines untouched by doubt
So vivid, so deprived of hesitation
Shining in its evil splendor

The burning hatred of man
A million degrees on display
Human voracity delineated
The demons in us all by fumes portrayed

Stare, see, take in, grasp
Comprehend, assimilate, behold your reflection

Its framing - gold plated lies
The canvas - hurting souls caught and weaved
The artist - the human dream
Incinerated, devoured, deceived

This song rapes your ears, moves towards your brain, fucks it up, and then proceeds to cleanse your soul through the power of pure awesomeness. That pretty much sums it up.

My Opinion

About the protagonist realizing the meaninglessness and/or cattlebrain streamlined thoughts of man. This leads to his torture throughout the rest of the album.

An arsonist?! :)

This song is about awakening. It's about the realization of how hateful and corrupt mankind truly is, thrust on the protagonist, which is until that point dormant, thinking that everything is working correctly. It tells us about how all the illusions and masks fall apart (or combust, if you will) Like many of their songs, despite portraying some very harsh images, it actually has a positive message.

My Interpretation

This is about someone thinking to have seen the light. Like that person knows everything there is to know. Its concluded in the last part: "Its framing - gold plated lies The canvas - hurting souls caught and weaved The artist - the human dream Incinerated, devoured, deceived" People believe in lies, get hurt, and have dreams. All get Incinerated, devoured and deceived because that person knows for himself what is the truth now. Everything he thought to be true gets "Incinerated, devoured, deceived"

Its quite easy in the end ^^

I find this song to have a positive message :D Very happy if you think about it.

i think the message of this song is:

"There is no doubt (first three parts) about the fact that humans are a race full of burning hatred(The burning hatred of man).

The other lines in the last tree party, i don't now what that is about

Again, The Buddhist part, Egoless state, or any eastern view of Self. Take some philosophy

Its pretty kinda clear this song is about how human self hatred is evident BUT BUT BUT why is the name combustion?

@AChainOfFlowers combustion is in this case probably a not so obvious word for enlightening

Combustion, quite simple: It's a person unleashing his anger. I especially love the sentence: A million degrees on display Now that I think of it, its perhaps a bit less positive in a way, as it is about people being evil. The only positive thing is that it becomes so over obvious that you cannot deny it anymore, thus leaving it to people to solve it. Solving this evil I mean. The human dream is to live in a certain world interpreted by themselves, and now this interpretation gets Incinerated, leaving the protagonist just to look at things differently. Mainly this song is about someone discovering stuff thats new to him, things he would normally like, he now sees as evil, thus making him to change.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the "eyes dilated..." part refers to the effect strong light (such as that emitted by a fire) has on the pupils.
