I’d move to Rockferry, tomorrow
And I’d build my house baby, with sorrow
I’ll leave my shadow, to fall behind
And I wouldn’t write to you
’Cause I’m not that kind.
The midnight trains are boarding
All wrap up 8's
I pick my load and I fill my truck before it’s too late
I leave the stars to judge
My every move
I’m not going to think of you or I’ll get the blues.
Theres no sleep on the journey
away from town
A bag of songs and a heavy heart
Won’t make me down
I give it all my strength and my might
I’ll make this decision
Win all the fights
I’ll move to Rockferry, tomorrow
And I’ll build my house baby, with sorrow
I’ll leave my shadow, to fall behind
And I wouldn’t write to you
’Cause I’m not that kind.
Not that kind
Rockferry
Not that kind
Rockferry
Not that kind

"I'll pack my load and I'll fill my trunk" :) Brilliant voice.
I agree that it's "trunk" - she wouldn't be packing a truck when she was talking about the trains just before. Although I still think it's "pick", unless it's an artefact of the Welsh accent?

This song sounds nothing like anything released in the last twenty years - brilliant haunting song.
I believe this song to be about a woman who is still in love with a man who doesn't love her back. She is determined not to be the kind of desperate girl who keeps clinging at a relationship that's not there - but she knows she can't do that when she's in close proximity to her beloved. She decides to leave town with her pride intact so she can mourn her lost love privately.
Spot on realdiamonds.
the guitar in this is brilliant, i love her voice it's so raw.
"The midnight trains are boarding All wrap up 8s"
Huh?
I have not been able to find the meaning of the second line and all other lyrics sites just have a variation on it. I suspect dodgy transcription. I had thought it was "All reprobates"
Can anyone shed any light on it?
Not a fan AT ALL but just thought I should mention; Apparently her grandmother lives in Rock Ferry in Wirral.
