Sixties Remake Lyrics
Classics in the modern age
Sixties remake
Everything you've got in spades
Your collarbone, shoulder blades
(Hey!)
Bat your lips
Shut your eyes
(Hey!)
Swing those chains
And start a fight
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city hurt
Taking to the streets at night
Home alone, tucked in tight
Everything you've got in spades
Your sixties remake
(Hey!)
Bat your lips
Shut your eyes
(Hey!)
Swing those chains
And start a fight
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city hurt
It's how I was
It's how I tried
I was sixteen for the night
It's how I was
It's how I tried
I was sixteen for the night
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city, hurt
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city, hurt
Sixties remake
Everything you've got in spades
Your collarbone, shoulder blades
Bat your lips
Shut your eyes
(Hey!)
Swing those chains
And start a fight
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city hurt
Home alone, tucked in tight
Everything you've got in spades
Your sixties remake
Bat your lips
Shut your eyes
(Hey!)
Swing those chains
And start a fight
Cause you've got nerve
but we've got tact
Going back in the city hurt
It's how I tried
I was sixteen for the night
It's how I tried
I was sixteen for the night
but we've got tact
Going back in the city, hurt
but we've got tact
Going back in the city, hurt

its: "Cause you've got nerve but we've got tact"
Sixteen for the night...
yea, def. "we've got tact."
I concur, definitely tact.
Anyways, I think this is a song about being strong and worrying about your own rights and standing up for yourself, but sometimes having to control yourself. "Swing those chains, start a fight. You've got nerve but we've got tact." I think the reference to being like a "classic" refers to older folks constantly saying things were made better and tougher in the old times. "It's how I was, it's how I tried, I was sixteen for the night" I think refers to being reckless as a teen and going back to that careless, "don't screw with me" state of mind.
Bite your lips, shut your eyes*
It's how I won and it's how I tried*
I was sixteen through the night.
the lyrics booklet says bite your lips, shut your eyes.. but i definitely hear bat your lips.
and its definitely tact.
