Phantom Pain Lyrics

They will never know about our secrets
Cause all our plans were written in the dirt
Wash them all away with bottled water
Wash them all away but they still hurt

I will miss you more than fire
Misses the air when it expires
And suffocates from a lack
Oh, a lack of oxygen

Are you standing at the drugstore counter?
Or are you on a bus that's going by?
Can I hear you walking close behind me?
Listen to the crows as they take flight

And I will miss you like an arm
That's been removed but when it's gone
I can still, still feel the pain
Oh, just like you were there

I will miss you more than fire
Misses the air when it expires
And suffocates from a lack
Oh, a lack of oxygen
A lack of oxygen

Oh, listen to the crows as they take flight
Oh, listen to the crows as they take flight
Oh, listen to the crows as they take flight
Oh, listen to the crows as they take flight

apparently you had some early unreleased version of this song. but it shows up on their new upcoming album 'listen to the crows as they take flight' and on there, the first part of the song has different lyrics. i was considering submitting a whole new lyric page and titling it "phantom pain (album version)" but since this song's already on here i think it might be better if you just update these lyrics to what they are now. if you want to keep these how they are, though, then let me know and i'll post a separate version than this one. the new lyrics are: "they will never understand our language 'cause we will never speak the words again. listen close and you can hear the echoes fade and disappear into the wind." that's the only part of the song that is different.
