It's about saving someone that you love from themselves. Showing them the way through the darkest of days into the light again. And it's about loving them not in spite of their scars but because of them. Or maybe it's just about missing someone so much that it hurts...

I think its about falling out of love with someone, but waiting until you get it back. Through the scars you've loved about that person reminds you once again why you love them so. "orchids still frozen" probably symbolizes the loss of love (frost) but the memory of how to love is still there (as in the orchids are still there).
