That's What Counts Lyrics

We shouldn't think about last night,
nobody's proud of what they've done.
Oh, let's not argue about what's right,
let's just agree that it was fun, fun

Enough is not enough,
but I keep saying that I'll stop
over and over.
I'm drowning in each drop.

There's not much left for me to do
but try to make another call.
If I'm not waking up with you,
why bother waking up at all?

Enough is not enough,
but I keep saying that I'll stop
over and over.
I know this isn't news,
but I think I'm getting used
to sayin' that I'll go
over and over.

Enough is not enough,
but I keep sayin' that I'll stop
over and over.
I know this isn't news,
but I think I'm getting used
to sayin' that I'll go
over and over.
I'm drowning in each drop,
but enough is not enough.
And I keep saying that I'll stop
over and over.
I know this isn't news.

I get the whole one-night-stand vibe from this vibe, just because of the first verse. I feel like the chorus is about how he (the person in the song) is not going to stop at a one-night stand and is continuing to sleep with this person and then the second verse could be about how hopeless he feels without having this person truly at his side because he wants the relationship to be about more than just sex and these little fleeting moments.

It's a really great song regardless.

Ah, I meant from this song, not from this vibe. Silly me. :]

I think this song is about when you keep doing something to piss off your girlfriend (" I keep saying that I'll stop"), but you're too pridefull to stop what your doing and instead you just say you want to leave (" I know this isn't news, but I think I'm getting used to sayin' that I'll go"). Then you realize that you need her more than she needs you ("If I'm not waking up with you,why bother waking up at all?") and as long as you both love each other then "Thats what counts". I love the saxophone in this song.

It seems to me to be about an alcohol problem made to sound like a romantic affair:

Enough is not enough, but I keep saying that I'll stop over and over. I'm drowning in each drop.

Wow this song is trippy, it didn't even sound like WAS at first, but I'm blown away. Logged in just to say that.
