Stand Up Lyrics
Look at all the lonely hearts
Shivering out in the dark
Hiding from the truth
Cover up the proof
Demons that I’ve tried to hide
Imprison me in my own lies
And all that I can do is cover up the proof
Don’t be afraid to…
Stand up!
Stand up if you’re broken
Stand up!
Stand up if you feel ashamed
You are not alone when you hurt this way
Stand up!
Stand up if you need love
Stand up!
This is not judgment day
You don’t have to hide
There’s no need to run
Everything will be okay
Secrets got me torn apart
Trying to destroy my heart
But I can see the light
It’s cutting through the night
Don’t run away
(Don’t run away)
Don’t be afraid to…
You say You love me
That’s all I’ll ever need
If You say I’m good enough
That’s good enough for me
Shivering out in the dark
Hiding from the truth
Cover up the proof
Demons that I’ve tried to hide
Imprison me in my own lies
And all that I can do is cover up the proof
Don’t be afraid to…
Stand up if you’re broken
Stand up!
Stand up if you feel ashamed
You are not alone when you hurt this way
Stand up!
Stand up if you need love
Stand up!
This is not judgment day
You don’t have to hide
There’s no need to run
Everything will be okay
Trying to destroy my heart
But I can see the light
It’s cutting through the night
Don’t run away
(Don’t run away)
Don’t be afraid to…
That’s all I’ll ever need
If You say I’m good enough
That’s good enough for me

"They would be much better if they didn't attempt to use "God" in almost all of their songs. It's insulting... As if you have to be so obvious to be a Christian band. I honestly resent them for it."
Honestly, that is one of the dumbest things I have ever read. Would you prefer a Christian band to sing about Satan? How can you despise a Christian band for singing about God?
The band is probably my second favorite Christian band right behind Skillet and this is definatly one of my favorite songs, not only by them but overall, it's so powerful and sends a strong message and I love it
Are you 8?? Do you have no comprehension of... anything at all?

Honestly, this is one of the dumbest things I've read... today. As if there is no other option in the entire world, you are either singing about god... or satan.

He/she despises a band for using "God" in every song. I'm assuming they meant the word "God" since it's in quotes and capitalized, and they made a comment about being too obvious next. Instead of alluding to the fact and doing it subtly and poetically they just come out and say "god" as if their fans are too dumb to...

Instead of alluding to the fact and doing it subtly and poetically they just come out and say "god" as if their fans are too dumb to realize who else they would be talking about. (Which is apparently a correct analysis on their part since people like you assume "Hey.. they didn't say God, they must mean Satan!!".

why listen to a christian band if God offends you? that makes no sense
Pretty sure Technophobia meant that they come out say "God" right out there instead of alluding to it. Kind of in a "hey, you guys might be too stupid to realize we're a christian band so all of our songs are about God, so we'll just go ahead and say "god" in most songs so you get the point"

I don't think Techno had anything against Christianity/God.

"As if you have to be so obvious to be a Christian band" actually.... yea thats kinda important to be considered a Christian... let alone a Christian Band and Im sure that they Place Their Faith In God before what people say or think... when you have something so amazing in your life.. theres nothing you can Do... I honestly dont think that they could write a song that doesnt have a christian message even if they tried.. I know I couldnt... when God pours this love into you its Got nowhere to Go but out... its like trying hide a candle under a jar... whats the point? let the Light shine.... I really like this song not because of the sound but because of how motivating it is.. we Christians can sometimes face much harder times than Non christians
i like you!
i like you!
Yeah.. you poor Christians have it so much harder than us anti-theists, atheists, agnostics, jews.. It's so funny how before anything bad happens life always asks "wait wait wait, I was about to break your car and make you lose your job - but you're an atheist? Oh ok, carry on then"

You're a fucking tool. Everyone has shitty things happen to them no matter what religion they are.

Pretty sure Technophobia was defending christians and christian music - he/she was offended that the band comes out and says "god" in most of their songs instead of realizing that their fan base is christians, they are christian music, and every song is already expected to be about god. From a poetic standpoint subtly and alluding to the fact that it's about god sounds much more thought out and professional than just saying "hey, we're talking about god, as proven by the fact that we say God"
It had nothing to do with hiding it.
(He was referring to the general sentiment of people insulting Christianity more than other religions because it is a religious majority, at least in the United States. He wasn't saying that more bad things just randomly happened to Christians.)

umm.. I'm not exactly sure what tecno is going on about, but I just want to say that this song is AMAZING... I love it
Anyway for those who looked up this sone to find out what it means this comment will tell you. The song is saying that when you sin or fail or do something you wish you hadn't you shouldn't let the guilt and pain destroy you. You should stand up and try to do better tomarrow rather than lie in fear of yesterday.
I think this is about emo people because of....
"Demons that Ive tried to hide Imprison me in my own lies And all that I can do is cover up the proof"
so yea, i think this song rocks btw.
its my favorite by them
